Model/Actor Interview When did you know
that you wanted to be a model or actor?
• I knew I wanted to be an actor in 7th grade when we took a class
trip to see Fiddler on the Roof in Chicago. That was the moment my
eyes opened up to all of the possibilities of the entertainment
industry.
What’s the biggest acting experience you’ve had?
• At the time of writing this response, I'd have to say my biggest
acting experience is a lead role in the feature Empress Vampire that
will be heading to Cannes in 2010. But, there are going to be 2 new
ones. An action film called Call No Man American will also be going to
Cannes and is currently in production. Tomorrow I have a test shoot
for a bigger project that shoots in NYC and LA.
What’s been your favorite modeling assignment?
• Modeling isn't really my focus, but I have had a few fun jobs. One
was for Eastbay/ESPN, through The Rock Agency, where we shot on a golf
course and got to take a few hacks at the balls. Another one of my
favorites has to be my first cover for Kiefer Pools. We got to swim,
play on the diving boards, etc.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a model or an
actor?
• The best advice I can give is to stay focused and dedicate
everything you can to the career. The entertainment industry is the
toughest business in the world to be successful in. With that said,
you have to work harder than everyone else if you want to be
successful. But you can do it! Always be professional (on set and
off), take as many classes as you have time for, audition for
everything you can get in the door for to keep your skills sharp and
network with everyone. Always work on your skills and remind yourself
daily what your goals are and you WILL be successful. Remember this is
supposed to be fun!
How has your life changed since you attended the IMTA convention?
How has your IMTA experience helped your career?
• Since IMTA my life has completely changed. Two weeks after IMTA, I
headed to Los Angeles with a whopping 3 credits. A year later, I have
16 film credits and 9 TV/New Media credits. That is one busy year!!
I've gained SAG-Eligible status for being Taft Hartley'd for a series
regular role in a Pilot currently being pitched to networks, and as
noted before bigger and bigger projects are starting to come my way.
Without IMTA, I would have come to LA without an agent or any guidance
and would have been completely clueless. Instead, I signed with an
amazing Commercial Agency (Commercial Talent) for Commercials and
Print and jumped on board with a fantastic Manager (Dreamscope
Entertainment). Without a team working by my side, I couldn't be as
far along as I am in such a short amount of time.
